By Dr David Leinkram
The presentation offers an insight into advanced digital technologies and their broader application in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This leads to a discussion regarding the applications of these technologies in the management of obstructive sleep apnoea, specifically, maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) with counter clockwise rotation. Finally, the criteria for appropriate patient selection for consideration for the surgery is developed.
- Explain how digital technologies are employed in oral and maxillofacial reconstruction
- Demonstrate how similar technology is employed in planning and executing orthognathic procedures, especially MMA
- Identify patients who are most likely to benefit from maxillomandibular advancement surgery
